RHIZOME LIBRARY
Books serve as the nourishment for the growth of rhizomes. Drawing wisdom from the experiences of others has been a crucial element in my journey towards healing. We use the wonderful service from Bookshop.org to support local bookworms. As I share about the impactful books that guided me, I invite you to explore and exchange your discoveries with our fellow Rhizomies. Keep in mind, we are our own unique (and beautiful) rhizomes, and what has proven advantageous for me may vary for you. Exercise your judgment accordingly.

Paulo Coelho
The Alchemist is a book I re-read every year, and I pick up different relatable pieces each time as I grow. The book encourages us to embark on our own quests, to listen to the whispers of our hearts, and to have the courage to pursue our dreams, no matter how daunting they may seem. This timeless masterpiece reminds us that the greatest treasures are often found within ourselves, and that the journey itself is as significant as the destination.
Adam Grant
Living in the unknowns is a practice. Think Again is a book about the benefit of doubt, and about how we can get better at embracing the unknown and the joy of being wrong. Evidence has shown that creative geniuses are not attached to one identity, but constantly willing to rethink their stances and that leaders who admit they don't know something and seek critical feedback lead more productive and innovative teams.
Viktor E. Frankl
Man’s Search for Meaning is a deeply moving book that has the power to change the way you view life. Frankl’s reflections on his experiences as a Holocaust survivor are incredibly humbling, and his philosophy of finding meaning in every situation, no matter how difficult, is both profound and empowering. Through his concept of logotherapy, he teaches that even in the darkest times, we have the ability to find purpose and strength. This book really makes you think about your own life and how you can find meaning in the everyday moments, no matter what challenges you face. And remember, "the meaning of life always changes, but that it never ceases to be."
Brené Brown
To quote Dr. Brené Brown, "I believe that you have to walk through vulnerability to get to courage, therefore…embrace the suck. I try to be grateful every day, and my motto right now is 'Courage over comfort.'" In this book, Dr. Brown explores eighty-seven of the emotions and experiences that define what it means to be human and walk through a new framework for cultivating meaningful connection.
Side note: Highly recommend the audible version. It felt like having a conversation with a friend about the nuances of feelings.☕️

Robin Wall Kimmerer
The Serviceberry is a poetic and thought-provoking call to reimagine our economy through the lens of reciprocity, abundance, and ecological kinship. Using the serviceberry as a metaphor, she challenges scarcity-driven capitalism and invites readers to embrace a gift-based economy rooted in care and connection. Her blend of Indigenous wisdom and scientific insight offers a hopeful, grounded alternative to extractive systems—one where value is measured by generosity, not greed.
